How Legislation Impacts on Recruitment and Selection


In 2019 workplace diversity is often associated with the most successful businesses.

Workforce diversity acknowledges the reality that people differ in many ways, visible or invisible, mainly:

Age, 

Gender,

Marital status, 

Social status,

Disability, 

Sexual orientation,

Religion, 

Personality, 

Ethnicity and 

Culture.


However, discrimination was once common in the UK:


Over time in the UK discrimination issues have been subject to Acts of Parliament:

This was the minimum businesses had to do to promote equality and diversity at that time.

In 2010 one Act of Parliament brought all anti discrimination law together.
