Why?

The most common reason is difficulty recruiting British workers.

Employers value EU migrants for their higher levels of education and work-readiness, often described as “work ethic”, and they especially value their flexibility in sectors with fluctuating demand.

What are the protests about?



Costa Coffee is not directly involved with the protests.


But, because Costa Coffee in Hong Kong operate in the central business district and busy retail districts they have been caught up with the protests.

Two main issues:

Disruption to sales.

Safety of staff and customers.

Costa Coffee has been careful not to comment on the protests.
